Kitchen Inspiration

If you are looking for a new kitchen, this is a good time. Some of the sales are still on if you are on a budget, (mind you, when aren't they) or you could be getting yourself ready for a big purchase this year, and we all need something to look forward to, don't we? So why not a new kitchen. I would love one. My MFI kitchen was put in in the 70's, (no I wasn't living here then, I was at school in the Midlands) and it had dark oak panelled doors and those lovely, fake antique, metal handles - gorgeous. So, I tarted it up with new Shaker doors, painted them blue, put new knobs on, new floor, new tiles, and spent the grand total of about £1000 on it. And......it's been like that ever since. So, personally I think I DESERVE a new kitchen. Here are a few to drool over.

I know it's obvious, but this looks so sunny. The location helps, obvs. But a bank of units with an island in front in a strong contrasting colour looks great. You have to be brave to go for yellow, but why not? Siematic Urban Interior Siematic.com

I would also like to live in a place like this, exposed brick, rough floorboards and that window is gorgeous. This kitchen is more traditional in style with Shaker doors and tongue and groove end panelling, but timeless. Neptune.com

Gotta hand it to IKEA, I wonder what percentage of the population have an IKEA kitchen? This one looks great with that hit of orange, and high gloss always looks great. The black and white geometric rug adds pattern too.

Handleless styles are really popular at the moment but this slightly recessed version adds subtle detail. I like the idea of having a shelf above the units for non-kichen accessories and those wrap around dark wood shelves on the island are a brilliant idea. Linear Edge harveyjones.com
