Inspirational Living Rooms

It's where you spend most of your time - with the family, entertaining or just relaxing, so its probably the first room you decorate and the one you spend most money on. Here's a few gorgeous looks to swoon over.

This gorgeous wine colour is everywhere this season, on clothes, and on furniture and accessories. The huge buttoned arms on the sofa above look so incredible and oh so comfortable - a real statement piece. Check out the large herringbone flooring and brass pendant too. Such a great look. Wow! Tropical prints are huge at the moment and following through into next year too. This is wonderful, again that 60's shape in velvet again, with amazing bamboo effect wallpaper and jungle print cushions - love it. So elegant, the grey sofa has thin wooden legs with end caps which look 60's but the sofa seat is a nod to the 1930's, then teamed with a 60's rattan style chair and rug. Really clever wrap around coffee tables and a storage unit in a similar wood. Love the dumpy side tables too and the lighting! The whole thing shouldn't work but it does. Arteriors

Clever sofa.com teamed up with Bert & May for a capsule collection of fantastic geometric prints on retro sofas and armchairs. Charcoal with white and midnight with black, a great combo and plants everywhere, some in 70's raffia hanging pot holders. Whoever thought the 70's would ever come back into fashion? Isn't that chimney amazing? Lily 3 seater sofa in Bert & May Santona Dark Room and Lily armchair in Asquith Sofa.com

Grey isn't going anywhere, anytime soon, and why should it when it looks as good as this? A classic shaped sofa in a simple room but with a striking fireplace and warmed up with a chunky rug and mid-century coffee table in natural wood. Alaska Loop carpet in Mineral, £32.99 sq.m. and Noble Tribal Charcoal rug from £48.99 sq.m. Carpetright

Man, I love a bit of marbling (and ombre if you are asking) and this is just gorgeous. A simple shape to show off the fantastic fabric and such a great colour palette, it really sings. Pink is also continuing through to next year.

Something a bit simpler but also elegant, and in velvet, which is everywhere at the moment, and blue which is also strong. Isn't this a great room? And check out that parquet floor again - its a must have.
